In this article, we will discuss the different options available to you when seeking a work at home job and what you should look out for while selecting your work at home job.

What is a work at home job?

A work at home job is also sometimes called a telecommuting job. Basically a work from home job means that instead of your traveling to where the job is available, the job travels to where you are available. This explains why it is also called a telecommuting job. When you choose a work at home job, fundamentally, what you need to understand is that you will be offering your services on a global platform. Your employer need not necessarily come from your geographical location, not even the country or state to which you belong.

Salient features

People, who opt for work at home jobs or work at home business, generally are called freelancers. A freelancer has the freedom to decide what he/she will do, on what terms, and fix his/her own schedules to deliver the service/goods. But, it is very important to remember that there is a very great level of responsibility attached to both work from home jobs as well as business. Though you are your own master, you have an obligation to execute the contracted work, within the agreed time frame and in most cases your progression or the absence of it, will be determined by this singular attribute. The quality of service that you produce should be pristine too since your employer or the service buyer should be able to use your output without having to rework on it.

Examples of work at home jobs

• Administrative assistant

• Virtual Assistant

• Data Entry

• Customer Service

• Medical/General Transcription service

• Copywriting

• Blogging

• Tutoring

• Software programming

• Link building

• Search Engine Optimization

• Paid surveys

• Mystery shopping

The list is only representative and the number of opportunities available is indeed endless.

Moving on

Now that you have understood the different aspects of a work at home opportunity, it is time you explore the details of these opportunities. The search engines offer tremendous help in guiding you to the huge store of resources. Before you jumpstart a work at home job, you should carefully study the details provided by each service buyer/employer.

Most of these opportunities will require you to bid a price for your service offering and the employer will accept or reject your bid. To place an effective bid, you should first understand the job itself; look for the number of bids that have already been placed, what is the average bid, and whether you would be comfortable rendering that particular service around the average bid or even less than that.

Your bid will have to be supported by brief statements of how you qualify yourself to bid for that particular assignment. Samples of your previous work may be called for in certain cases. Apart from the price, your bid will also commit on the time required for completion of the project. This is a very crucial aspect of work at home jobs and most employers do not appreciate delayed deliveries.

I do not know you, but I’ll be you would like to make some more money and not spend a lot of money to do it. In this article I want to give you a great free work from home idea that you can earn great money doing.

Because of this you go on the internet looking for free ways to get started earning money. Here is one idea you may not have considered.

I am talking about selling private label right products. A plr product is one that is already created and you have the right to sell. Because much of the hard work is already done for you they are great and you can do this on the internet.

The idea is already been thought of and the product is created. However, the product is still not ready to put on the market. Depending on how many other people have the same rights to this product as you have may mean you need to alter it in some way to make it unique or different.

Many products sold on the Internet today that are private label right products that have been repackaged to appear different. Often this involves tying a different ribbon around it, so to speak, and altering the content in some way such as a re-writing it so that it appears to be different.

This idea is not new and has been done over and over both online and off-line with products for many years. You just may not be aware that you’re looking at a product that really is not that different than something else already out on the market.

What makes this a great free work from home idea is you can get started with virtually no money out of your pocket. PLR Wholesaler is one example of a private label website or you can have access to hundreds of ideas and products that you can resell.

Once you have reworked them to make him appear unique or fresh you will have to develop the skills it takes to market these products online.

This is really the hardest part of making money on the Internet for anybody anyway. Because there are so many websites and blogs available online today you will be competing with many of them for the attention of your prospect.

Your ability to learn the best ways with the least amount of advertising expense will determine how successful this idea will be for you. But because this is a free work from home idea, it is worth taking a closer look at because the rewards and the income can be substantial.

Kevin Botha asked:

From Home”,one of the terms most frequently searched for on the internet these days, clearly highlights the fact that many individuals now consider this to be an attractive career option. Many legitimate arguments have been voiced in support of this gradually increasing trend in the workforce , most of which amount to the single fact that workers these days consider it being able to make choices around their working schedules, to be a crucial ingredient in maintaining a healthy 21st century lifestyle.

The increasing trend amongst employees to pursue “Working From Home” has inevitably completely changed the way many corporations do business. Many major corporations now acknowledge the need to focus more on the internet for their employment needs and have consequently aligned their employment policies to take advantage of this powerful new workforce that has emerged. The end result is that many of these major corporations now employ people who work for them from the comfort of their own homes.

Through this trend, a world of opportunity has unfolded for both employers and employees, the outcome being a very successful “Win-Win” formula. “Working From Home” offers many benefits to the employee of which some of the more valued ones are:

- Saving on travel costs and commuting time,

- Potential to vary work hours (and earnings) to match other commitments,

- Increased productivity and job satisfaction resulting from greater autonomy.

Studies in Australia and other countries showed that workers have:

- Better concentration with less noise, fewer interruptions and less traveling time,

- Lower stress levels,

- Reduced absenteeism and

- Higher job satisfaction

all of which greatly benefits the organizations they work for. In addition to this:

- Staff is able to focus on agreed outcomes and deliverables without the distractions of the office,

- Savings are realized on office space, recruitment and training,

- Better retention of valued staff that may otherwise leave the organization is accomplished and

- The company gains additional appeal as a ‘preferred employer’.

Regardless of whether you are currently employed or not, if you have a desire to earn an income on the internet “Working From Home”, it has never before been made easier to do so. Many certified employees, now working online, have successfully completed the training required to do so, via well established and recognized Online Training Centres. The purpose of the training is to equip people with those very specific skills needed to work with verified online corporations, right from the comfort of their homes.

Not only do workers receive training in the skills they require to perform their duties, but are also educated and guided in the process of registering and getting accepted to work with a number of online companies. It is not uncommon for trained and certified workers to be employed by several online companies by the time they complete their training. In fact, it is not unusual for those considering enrolling for training to be guaranteed working with a verified company, from home, by the time they complete their training and is certified. The training provided is also endorsed and appraised by the Consumer Advocacy Group Of America as providing top online “Working From Home” opportunities and is reported to have a “spotless record” by the Business Bureau.

Most people may now be quite capable of realizing their “Working From Home” dream. As a rule of thumb, if you’re able to type, click a mouse, have internet access and know how to use it read and follow instructions, you are considered to be a potentially suitable candidate. Typically, training is provided via online video lessons, which offer the added convenience that it can be done at home at one’s own pace. The training is concise and to the point, specifically tailored to what employers are looking for and students are often able to complete the training in a weekend or a couple of evenings.

It is unfortunate however; that the training provided for these “Working From Home” opportunities is currently limited to only a few approved countries, the reason for this being that companies hiring online employees currently only approve of working with residents from the United States, Canada, Australia or Great Britain. Considering the numerous benefits this system offers to both employers and employees, it is envisaged that it won’t be long before it spreads further abroad.

In close, these “Working From Home” opportunities prove to have provided employees with the choices they were looking for but never had with conventional, eight to five, employment arrangements which made a positive difference to many people’s lives. It is entirely web based, which offers the convenience to work wherever there is a computer and an internet connection, which essentially makes it the perfect work from home opportunity.

James Schramko asked:

If you are like a growing number of people who are considering freeing yourself from the daily grind of your job, its great to know that there is a growing number of work from home opportunities available to you.

It would be impossible to list them all here, but consider these few to start with.

One of the work from home options that is quite popular for people who leave their jobs because they realize that they are spending too much money on child care that it isn’t worth working is starting your own child care business at home.

You can certainly make good money babysitting at home, but you should consider the costs of this type of job.

You new business will need to be advertised in your community newspaper. You will need to buy extra food each week to feed the additional mouths. You will need to have age appropriate toys for all of the kids you keep, as well as activities for holidays, birthdays, and things like that.

Then you have to consider the cost of repairs to your home and the items in it when the kids you watch tear them up.

Perhaps there are better work at home options than bringing others into your home. Perhaps you could find something that you can make money from home on the internet, like one of those turnkey business opportunities that you see advertised on late night television and that you get ads for in your e-mail.

Such turnkey businesses are excellent work at home options, but you need to make an initial investment: pay the monthly fees to host your website, and budget some money for advertising etc, but it is worth it if you take the right steps to make your business successful.

But are these work from home sites legitimate? That is a good question, and the answer is yes and no.

The work at home options that you find on work from home sites are usually perfectly legitimate and legal, but there are a few rogues out there that you will need to be careful of.

Watch out for the ones that make outrageous promises, like become a millionaire in your first month.

Watch out for the ones that don’t give you all of the information up front or that make you register to get the information.

Avoid any website that offers no contact information.

RubyUnicorn asked:

I currently work from home for a telemarketing company. However, I would like to add to my work load and income. Are there any data entry work from home jobs that I can apply for that do not require me to pay them for the job? Or are there other marketing opportunities that I can work from home? The main thing is I do not want to have to pay anyone to have a work from home job!
I appreciate all of the information but I asked that I please get some good leads out there that I DO NOT have to pay anything up front!! Please help me with this, I have Rhuematoid Arthritis and I am partially disabled. I need to find something to work on from home!
Though I have Rhuematoid, I have a Rhuematologist and I receive experimental treatments and so far it is controlling it. Thank you though, but I do not send money for things like that.
